Thoughts blown from a life of faith.

This blog is an attempt to encapsulate in words God's amazing-ness! And what He has been doing in my life as an overflow of His great love for us. Hopefully, you'll let Him do the same for you. =)

Impact Thailand After Thoughts

I can't believe that it's all over. The months of thinking, dreaming and praying. I can't believe it even happened. As I write this, it would be more than 2 weeks since the team and I got back from Thailand.

Time can really be our enemy; I almost never got around to even sit down and write about what the trip meant to me, and other personal thoughts I have about it. When we got back, I found myself in the blurry of so many activities that needed my time and attention.

As I look back, it all feels like a dream.

A dream I had awhile back, something memorable, yet forgettable at the same time. As I almost let the whole experience get buried into my system without any chance for appraisal or further scrutiny.

As I said during our House Fellowship Night, the trip meant a lot to me;because mainly of the many firsts I would have: first time to ride a plane; first time to go outside the country; first time to be with my churchmates for longer than 4 days non-stop; first time to live with people from another culture.

Leona put it best when she said that our team's name is "Impact Thailand", but what happened was, a huge impact was made on us as well.

Maybe what made the most impact on me during the trip, was the fact that those first times I had mentioned, were not even close to being the highlights of the experience that I had.

But it was mainly about having first-hand experience of living in God's grace, feeling the weight of it all so much, that you just can't help but be in awe and cry out to God: Why me? I am so not deserving of it all.

To be given the privilege of getting a glimpse of the fulfillment of God's overall plan and purpose of redemption for the entire humanity: That every knee shall now, and every tongue and tribe will confess that He is indeed Lord of all.

To be awarded the joy and to share in the burden of really praying for an unreached people group.

To have the chance of going all out in the battle for these people's hearts, and be decked out completely in the armor that He gives us. Knowing full well that the victory is already written in history.

And to just be the recipient of salvation, that is at work day in and day out. The changing of a person's whole being; mind, body, heart and spirit.

Indeed, those are the bigger and greater reasons for why the trip will always have a special place in my heart.

And what's more; to know for sure that this is only the beginning. That greater things are yet to come.

Wow.

No doubt about it; only one thing is left to do.

But to give praise to the One who started it all.

All glory to you Lord! To You alone!

=============================================================

I was thinking that maybe before I put anything here about Impact Thailand '09, I (and the team) should finish all our 'assignments' first..like the video, letters, report, etc.

Just so I don't miss out on anything. It's good to have the before, during, and after covered right? =)

=============================================================

Realization for the day:

It's hard to follow your own advice.

More than the giving out of advice, actually taking your own words to be put into action in your life is a harder thing.

Just so I can get my thoughts out.

But still, I am thankful for the opportunity and privilege to be part of other people's journeys =)

Amazing Lord, indeed You expand and You increase.

=============================================================

I have decided, I have resolved, to wait upon You Lord. ♥
